On the occasion of Ganesha Utsav, Bollywood stars Govinda, Kareena Kapoor and singer Shaan participated in a cultural programme held in Bangalore on Sunday.
The city is celebrating the 49th ‘Bengaluru Ganesha Utsav’, which includes 11 days of music and dance by various Bollywood stars. Talking to media persons, Govinda, said that it feels good to celebrate the festival with great fervor. The Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava is being organised by Sri Vidyaranya Yuvaka Sangha, a non-governmental organisation.
Surrounded by three or four bodyguards, dressed in a dapper black suit, Kareena Kapoor conceded that bodyguards were the flavor of the season, referring to her recently-released film, “Bodyguard”, where she starred opposite the charismatic Salman Khan.
“Of course, on screen I had the best and most-coveted, loyal and hottest bodyguard of all,” she gushed. “In Mumbai, I am more chilled out and do not go out with bodyguards,” she added. She said that she was delighted to be in Bangalore.
Govinda, sporting shades and a smart suit, interacted openly with the media. He took questions on his recent public spat with his brother-in-law, explaining that it was a case of personal differences, and also expressed reluctance to re-join politics.
Asked about his views on Anna Hazare, he said: “Since I quit politics, I have refrained from making statements on topics remotely political to avoid any speculation on my re-entering politics.” “I intend to keep it that way, at least for a few years,” he said and added that he felt he was not good at handling politics.
The press conference was held hours before the three stars performed at the Ganesh Utsav on Sunday evening.
