Dharma Productions’ still untitled film (generally referred to as Short Term Shaadi) starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, is now slated to release on Valentine’s Day in 2012. The film, which is set in the US and India, completed its first schedule in Las Vegas last year, following it up with some patchwork in Mumbai in March this year.
The Mumbai shoot of the film had to be postponed because of Kareena’s busy schedule and will now start on September 18. After this the shooting of the film will be complete. Producer Karan Johar wants the love story to release on Valentine’s Day next year.
Katrina shoots with Salman for Bodyguard
After Salman Khan agreed to be part of the Wallah wallah track of the Katrina Kaif starrer Tees Maar Khan, it is now Kaif’s turn to return the favour. The actress shot for a song with Salman Khan on July 18 for Bodyguard at a specially- erected set at ND Studios in Karjat. Producer Atul Agnihotri said that it was not an item number and she was just part of a song where she is playing herself. “It’s being choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. After this only one more song is left which will be picturised on Salman and Kareena. It will be shot in the first week of August at an outdoor location,” said Atul. Bodyguard releases on Eid, August 31.
Remake of Chashme Buddoor delayed
The shooting of David Dhawan’s adaptation of the ’80s hit Chashme Buddoor has been delayed. The film, which was to take off in August this year, is most likely to start in October or even later. The reason is that the director is busy wrapping up the shooting, and post-production of Rascals.
“I cannot even think of starting a new film till Rascals releases on October 6. Then I have to be there for my son Varun who is making his debut as an actor with Student Of The Year, and Rohit who is debuting as a director with Desi Boyz. Only then will I start Chashme Buddoor,” said Dhawan.
Though the director said that the cast has not been finalised, Ali Zafar, Siddharth and south actress Tapasee are said to be part of the remake.
Happi will release after Mausam
Director Bhawana Talwar’s Happi, which was to release in the first half of this year, will now release after Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut Mausam. Happi, which stars Pankaj in the lead as a man who comes to a big city and is surprised by the lifestyle of the people living there, is inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s cinema. “Pankaj Kapur was very busy with Mausam and could not have given the time required to promote the film. He’s the kind of person who likes to give his all whether it is acting in a film or promoting it and it would not have been fair if he were to just do some interviews. And anyway the subject of the film will not go out of date,” said Talwar, who is busy scripting her next.
